State-Of-The-Art Health Facility for Our Veterans

We are designing this new 900,000 square-foot acute care facility. This seven-story hospital building will house nursing units, diagnostic and treatment areas, administrative and research facilities, and a cafeteria. Our steel moment frame design incorporates blast-resistant design criteria to prevent progressive collapse in the event of a terrorist attack. This full-service, acute care and all-digital hospital is designed to meet the needs of the increasing veteran population throughout Nevada and will be fully operational in the event of an earthquake. Many of Nevada’s veterans had to fly to Arizona or California for much needed services, but now this hospital complex will offer veterans access to a complete range of medical services in one location. In addition, the facility will consist of two outpatient clinics, an administration building, a mental health building and a nursing home. This $600 million project is scheduled to be completed in 2011.
