Degenkolb

Careers: Meet Our People

Brian DiBarnaba

CULTURE:

The engineers who work here drive Degenkolb’s culture. We have created an environment where engineers can collaborate as team members to solve structural problems. Our solutions are often times quite interesting and some times pleasantly surprising — even to those who developed the solutions.

CAREER:

I am encouraged and supported to continue my education through professional organizations and activities. Also, I have been involved with various volunteer organizations including EAA and LEAP. These organizations help teach basic engineering skills and thinking to K-12 students. Being a part of these organizations is extremely rewarding. Not only are we supporting our local communities, but the future of our profession as well.

PASSION:

I have flexible hours to allow for daily activities and flexible vacation times to allow for those more time consuming adventures. For me, sailing is critical. Work isn’t everything.

ON THE JOB:

I chose to work here because I knew that I would be able to work on engineering problems that would be more interesting and more challenging than those problems given to typical structural firms. Our expertise in seismic design has promoted creative thinking concerning problems that other engineers would consider impossible.
