Why do you stay at Degenkolb?
I often get asked this question when I am interviewing engineers just coming out of school. 2010 is my 15 year anniversary at Degenkolb and I often find myself surprised at this milestone. My simple answer to this question is “the people.” While that may sound like an over-used response, I can’t emphasize enough how true this is. I’ve made many long life friends through the years, worked with amazingly talented people and have gotten such tremendous mentorship.

Your Passions:

What are your passions?/Does Degenkolb support your passions?
Three years ago my answer would have been traveling, outdoors and skiing. Today my answer is my family. Degenkolb is amazing at supporting work/life balance. I was fortunate to be able to take many months off after my daughter was born and come back to work a flexible part-time schedule.

On the Job:

What does an average day at Degenkolb look like? Describe a typical day at Degenkolb.
For an engineer, I don’t think there is such a thing as a typical day. This is what makes my job interesting. Projects are almost never typical, creativity is needed constantly and everyday is different.
