Bob Pekelnicky Chosen for the 2010 Emerging Leaders Alliance
A big congratulations goes out to Associate Principal, Bob Pekelnicky!
Bob was chosen to represent ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) in the 2010 Emerging Leaders Alliance capstone program in Amsterdam. The Emerging Leaders Alliance is an interdisciplinary community that supports learning and fosters leadership development in the engineering and scientific professionals.
Bob will be part of a group of 100 delegates from a broad cross-section of the international engineering and scientific community, chosen by their various professional associations to attend the unique event. The program takes place from Tuesday, November 30th to Thursday, December 2nd and topics covered will include: change management, risk assessment, critical thinking, multigenerational communications, conflict resolution, ethics and social responsibility.
The Emerging Leaders Alliance (www.emergingleadersalliance.org) was formed in 2008 as a cooperative project of several national and international engineering societies to foster leadership in the engineering and scientific community. Its mission is to provide an interdisciplinary community of learning and support for engineering and scientific professionals, promoting the development of great leaders to guide our professions in addressing the needs of people in the 21st century.
The founding societies believe that it is not sufficient to provide a “traditional” training program for engineering leaders. Our professions are called to a higher accountability. Just as social responsibility and environmental stewardship are foundations for our professions, they are also woven into the Emerging Leaders Alliance. Participants in this program are selected by the member societies based upon the potential for leadership in the engineering and scientific community.
Sounds like a great opportunity for Bob!
