This scholarship was presented to him in honor of Bill Giles, SEAONC Executive Secretary from 1966-1992. The Sutter Alta Bates Patient Care Pavilion proudly took top honors at the 2011 Tekla Awards in the BIM category competition. DPR Construction submit the award on behalf of the IPD team, in which Degenkolb plays a vital role. Annually published in April, the Engineering News-Record (ENR) ranking for the 2011 Top 500 Design Firms has been released! The ranking includes US-based design firms, placing them on the list with regard to design-specific revenue.

In the midst of all the chatter surrounding the Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and Oscars, the opposite side of town was abuzz with talk about another award ceremony... the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Awards.

Congrats to the design team for UC Santa Cruz Cowell Student Health Center achieving LEED Gold!
Degenkolb provided full structural engineering design and construction administration services for the complete
renovation, seismic strengthening and expansion of the University’s student health center. The original building
was a 30,000 square foot building designed and built in the late 1960s. Degenkolb also worked on the design of a new 10,000 square-foot two-story addition plus the interconnecting bridge.
